Unit Converter

Choose a category and source unit to compare a target unit alongside every supported unit in the same category. It covers fixed-reference conversions from length, area, and volume to speed, pressure, energy, and angle.

Conversion Coverage

This tool converts 12 categories with fixed formulas: length, mass, temperature, area, volume, speed, time, data, pressure, energy, power, and angle. It is not for values that change constantly, such as exchange rates or market prices.

Values and References

You can compare an input against every supported unit in the same category. Temperature uses separate Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin formulas; other categories use fixed ratios based on a common reference unit.

How to Use

  1. Choose a conversion category.
  2. Enter a value and choose a source unit from the units shown for that category.
  3. Choose a target unit or use Swap to exchange the source and target units.
  4. Review the direct result and the complete list of units in the category.
  5. Use Copy on any result row to copy the value with its unit.

Examples

  • Compare 1 meter with centimeters, inches, and feet
  • Convert 25°C to Fahrenheit and Kelvin
  • Check the difference between 100GB and GiB
  • Convert pyeong to square meters
  • Compare 60 mph with km/h and meters per second
  • Convert 1.5 kWh to Wh and joules

Compare multiple units in the same category at once in the result list. This tool does not cover live-data values such as exchange rates.

Calculation and Conversion Notes

The Unit Converter supports 12 categories: length, mass, temperature, area, volume, speed, time, data storage, pressure, energy, power, and angle. Units in the same category are converted through a common base unit. Temperature uses `F = C × 9 / 5 + 32` and `K = C + 273.15`; data storage distinguishes decimal KB, MB, and GB from binary KiB, MiB, and GiB.

Precision

Results may be rounded for display. For experiments, engineering, or contracts, verify the required number of digits separately.

FAQ

What is the all-results list?

It converts the input into every supported unit in the same category. Use a row's copy button to copy its value and unit.

Are KB and KiB the same?

No. KB is based on 1,000 bytes, while KiB is based on 1,024 bytes. The same distinction applies to GB and GiB.

Which cup and gallon are used?

The volume units cup, fl oz, pint, quart, and gallon use US customary measurements.

Is temperature converted with a simple ratio?

No. Fahrenheit and Kelvin use their own formulas because they have offsets relative to Celsius.

Can it convert exchange rates?

No. Exchange rates require live data and are not provided without an external API.
