Merging vs Mixing
This tool joins files one after another. It is not a multitrack mixer for layering sounds at the same time.
Transition Options
Silence inserts a gap between files. Crossfade overlaps the end of one file and the beginning of the next. Very short selected ranges cannot use long crossfades.

Calculation and Conversion Notes
Audio merging works by decoding the selected audio files in the browser, applying each file's selected range and volume settings, and rendering them into one timeline. Silence or crossfade transitions can be applied between files, and the final result is saved as MP3, WAV, OGG, or FLAC. MP3, OGG, and FLAC output are encoded in the browser using FFmpeg WASM. Saving lossy sources as FLAC does not restore audio quality that has already been lost. Selected files are not uploaded to a server and are processed only in your browser.

The total duration reflects selected ranges, inserted silence, and crossfade overlap. Encoded output may differ by a very small amount.
