How to Add the M4R File as an iPhone Ringtone

  1. Download the generated M4R file.
  2. Use a Mac or Windows PC to transfer the file to your iPhone.
  3. Depending on your device and OS version, use GarageBand or Apple device management features to add it as a ringtone.
  4. On iPhone, go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone.
  5. Choose the ringtone you added.

M4R is an MP4-family container used for iPhone ringtones. This tool encodes the selected section as AAC audio inside an M4R file.

Length and Fade

Short ringtones are easier to manage, so 30 seconds or less is recommended. Fade out can make the ending feel less abrupt.
