Image to Pixel Art draws the selected image to a smaller browser Canvas, quantizes colors according to the color count and palette settings, optionally applies dithering and outlines, then scales the result back up with nearest-neighbor rendering. JPG output composites transparent areas with the selected background color. Selected images are processed only in your browser.

Larger pixel sizes create chunkier blocks and reduce fine detail.
What does reducing the color count do?
Fewer colors create a stronger retro limited-palette look.
What is dithering?
Dithering mixes dot patterns to suggest shading with fewer colors.
Are transparent PNG files supported?
Yes. PNG and WebP output can preserve transparency. JPG output is composited with the selected background color.
Why does the result look blurry?
The preview may depend on display scaling, but downloaded output is rendered with nearest-neighbor scaling to preserve the pixel effect.
