Making a color transparent works by changing the alpha value of pixels similar to the selected target color. Fully transparent mode sets matching pixels to alpha 0, while soft transparency adjusts alpha gradually based on color distance. It works best with solid backgrounds, logos, and icons with clear color boundaries; results can be limited for real-world photos with lighting, shadows, and reflections. JPG is excluded because it does not support transparency. This is not an AI background remover, and selected images are processed only in your browser.

Can I make a white background transparent?
Yes. Select the white color and adjust the tolerance to include similar white pixels.
Can it naturally remove a background from a real-world photo?
This is a color-based tool, so it works best for solid backgrounds, logos, and icons. Real-world photos with lighting, shadows, and reflections may not produce the intended result.
Why can't I save as JPG?
JPG does not support transparency, so this tool only provides PNG and WebP output.
How is this different from a background remover?
This tool does not detect objects. It makes pixels transparent based on the selected color. It is not an AI background remover.
Why is there a white edge left around the object?
It is usually caused by anti-aliased edge pixels mixed with the original background color. Try soft transparency and the reduce color fringe option.
