Photos can retain capture date, camera model, GPS location, author, and other information. Review metadata before sharing, then remove GPS only or remove all supported metadata.
Editing vs Removing
Editing changes supported existing EXIF values, while removal deletes selected metadata containers. Changing orientation updates a direction tag; it does not rotate image pixels.
How to Use
- Choose a JPG, HEIC, or HEIF photo.
- Use View metadata to review stored dates, camera data, GPS, author, and copyright.
- Use Edit metadata to update supported description, author, copyright, date, camera, GPS, and orientation fields.
- Use Remove metadata to remove selected categories or every removable metadata container.
- Download the result. Supported formats are not pixel re-encoded.

What Photo Metadata Can Contain

Removing GPS can preserve capture date and camera data. Editing and removal support depends on the actual JPG or HEIC/HEIF file structure.

Calculation and Conversion Notes
The Image EXIF & Metadata Editor views, edits, or removes EXIF metadata from JPG, HEIC, and HEIF photos. Supported operations do not re-encode image pixels through a canvas. HEIC/HEIF loads a preview component lazily from an external CDN only when selected, and your image and EXIF/GPS data are not sent externally.
Format Support
The tool currently focuses on JPG and HEIC/HEIF photos. Manufacturer-specific capture data and adding missing entries can be limited to protect file compatibility.
FAQ
Can I remove only GPS data?
Yes. Select only GPS location in Remove metadata to keep dates and other information.
Will image quality change?
For supported formats, the tool rewrites metadata areas without re-encoding image pixels.
Can HEIC files be edited?
HEIC/HEIF loads the required component only when selected. Existing EXIF entries can be edited or removed where supported; adding missing entries and editing XMP are not supported.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. Your image and EXIF/GPS data stay in the browser. Only the HEIC preview component may be downloaded from an external CDN.
